Abundance With God

Abundance With God

While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume oil, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume oil on his head. Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume oil?  It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages and the money given to the poor.”

Mark 14:3-4

When this woman poured out her best before Jesus, some saw it as waste—but Jesus saw it as worship. God’s supply can never run out. That alabaster jar may have been costly, but God could have multiplied it again and again. The Kingdom of God is not about scarcity, but about overflowing abundance. True poverty is not the absence of money, but the absence of faith in God’s limitless supply. When we see Him as our Source, we’ll never be limited by the world’s way of thinking.

1. Step of Faith

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”  When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.  So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

Luke 5:4-6

Peter’s life changed the moment he trusted Jesus’ word above his circumstances. His empty nets became overflowing nets! God is not limited by natural conditions. What seemed impossible in Peter’s strength became more than enough in God’s abundance.

This moment wasn’t just about fish—it was about Peter seeing who Jesus really was: the source of supernatural provision. The catch was so large it required others to come and share in the blessing. That’s how God works. When we step out in faith, His provision is not just for us, but to overflow into the lives of others.

Faith always leads us into God’s abundance. It may feel risky to trust Him, but every step of faith positions us for more than we could ever do on our own.

2. God’s Riches

O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

Psalm 104:24

This world is bursting with God’s riches, treasures, and resources—many of which humanity hasn’t even discovered yet! There is no shortage in God’s economy. When He created the heavens and the earth, He declared it all good, and He filled it with more than enough to sustain and bless His children.

Proverbs 10:22 tells us, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” God’s riches don’t bring stress, worry, or heaviness. His blessing is pure goodness. The same God who put gold in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:12) is the same God who still fills the earth with abundance for His people today.

When we look around, we may see reports of lack or shortages, but Heaven declares: “There is more than enough.” Our Father has prepared everything His children will ever need—not just to survive, but to thrive.

3. God’s Best

But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: and bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Luke 15:22-24

The prodigal son’s story is one of the clearest pictures of God’s heart. After wandering and wasting his inheritance, the son expected shame and rejection. Instead, his father ran to him, embraced him, and restored him with the best—the best robe, the best ring, the best meal.

This is how God treats us. He doesn’t hold our past against us—He pours out His best. His abundance isn’t based on our performance; it’s based on His love. As children of God, we don’t have to beg for scraps. We are heirs of the Kingdom and carriers of the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:29).

When God restores, He doesn’t do it halfway. He brings us into His best, because He wants the world to see His goodness shining through His children.

 4. Renewing Our Mindset

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Joshua 1:8

God’s Word is the key to unlocking abundance in our lives. The more we meditate on His promises, the more our thinking shifts from lack to abundance, from fear to faith, from just getting by to living in overflow.

A poverty mindset says, “I can’t. I’ll never have enough.” But the Word of God says, “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). A renewed mind dares to believe what God says is possible.

FINAL THOUGHTS

God’s abundance never runs out. He always has more than enough. His riches fill the earth, His blessing brings increase without sorrow, and His best is reserved for His children.

We are heirs of His promises, carriers of His blessing, and called to walk in overflow.

As we trust Him, take steps of faith, and renew our minds with His Word, we step into the reality of His Kingdom: a life of abundance, blessing, and victory.
