Putting on The Armor of God
Every believer is called to live strong in the Lord and walk in His victory. Life brings battles, but God hasn’t left us defenseless. He has equipped us with His armor—His truth, His Word, His righteousness, His peace, His faith, His salvation, and His Spirit. When we put on the full armor of God, we stand in strength, not fear. We stand in victory, not defeat.
God’s armor isn’t something we wear once—it’s something we walk in daily. It’s how we fight our battles and how we live in triumph.
1. Be Strong in the Lord
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Ephesians 6:10
Our strength doesn’t come from striving—it comes from God’s power within us. When we depend on Him, we become unshakable. The enemy may attack, but he cannot prevail against a believer who stands firm in the Lord’s strength.
Every morning, before we face the world, we must remind ourselves: I’m not fighting alone. God is with me, and His strength is my armor. With that mindset, we walk through every challenge already positioned for victory.
2. Dress for Battle
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Ephesians 6:11
God’s armor covers every area of our life. His truth guards our mind. His righteousness protects our heart. His peace stabilizes our path. His faith shields us from fiery attacks. His Word gives us authority. And His Spirit empowers us to win every battle.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 1:6
God is confident in His power and ability to transform us. Let us not be intimated if we may not feel like we are changing. We are changing, and we may not know it. God is able and will transform, equip, and take us to our Promised Land.
3. Stand Your Ground
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.
Ephesians 6:13
There will always be resistance against the purposes of God in our life, but the key is to stand. We don’t back down when things get hard—we stand firm in faith. The enemy’s goal is to wear us down, but God’s goal is to strengthen us through endurance.
When we stand on God’s Word, we stand in victory. Even when the battle feels long, the truth is this: we win in the end. Our job isn’t to figure everything out—it’s to stand, believe, and keep our armor on.
4. The Sword of the Spirit
Take… the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Ephesians 6:17
Every part of the armor protects, but the sword of the Spirit advances. The Word of God is our weapon—it cuts through lies, breaks fear, and releases faith. When Jesus faced the enemy in the wilderness, He didn’t argue or reason; He simply declared, “It is written.”
That same authority belongs to us. Every time we speak God’s Word over our situation, we’re striking a blow in the spirit. We don’t fight for victory—we fight from victory, because Jesus has already won.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The armor of God is more than a passage of Scripture—it’s a lifestyle. It’s how we face challenges, resist the enemy, and live with unshakable faith.
As we stay dressed in truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word, no weapon formed against us will prosper.
God has already secured our victory. All we have to do is put on His armor and stand strong.
