How To Have Spiritual Authority

How To Have Spiritual Authority

So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17

The higher truth to this scripture is repetition. We hear, we read, we study, we execute, and we build our faith on the Word of God repetitively without ceasing.  Repetition is the very tool that will permanently set God’s word in our consciousness which will ultimately renew our mind-sets from the ways of the world to the ways of the Kingdom of God!

1. Have Faith In God

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Mathew 11:22-23

Jesus is very clear in this scripture about having faith in God. Faith is not difficult to understand. We keep doubt out of our heart and we believe in God’s Word, and we will have whatever He says we can have.  It is all laid out for us in His Word!  Every promise comes by our faith and by believing and then receiving, beginning with our salvation.

2. Learn the Believer’s Authority

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Luke 10:19

When we understand where faith comes from, and how faith works (faith in God, in His word, in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, in the blood covenant, in the indwelling Holy Spirit) then we are equipped and ready to walk in our authority as a believer and live an unlimited life! The authority that was given to us on that cross.

3. Speak Faith

Whoever says to this mountain is the speaking part of faith in Matthew 11:23 above.  In other words, faith works by whoever shall say or whoever shall speak.  We can be saved and believe God and believe the Bible but we are going to have to speak His Word, with our authority as a believer, over our life and the lives of others. I am healed!  I am a new creation!  I am the head and not the tail!  I am blessed!  I am prosperous! In our prayers we speak the Word of God over our life, our family’s lives, over our city, over our nation, etc.

4. Declare The Blood of Jesus

It is by the blood of Jesus and the power of our testimony that the enemy is defeated.

Revelation 12:11

The blood of Jesus represents forgiveness, redemption (our testimony), peace, cleansing, and overcoming power. We also speak the blood of Jesus over our life and the lives we are standing in the gap for in our prayers.  When we plead the blood of Jesus this is an application of His blood onto the receiver of our prayers.  Exactly what happened in Exodus when the Israelites applied blood to their doors to protect them from the angel of death that was sent to deliver a plague that killed the firstborn children of Egypt. Our expectation and our confidence should be in the blood of Jesus and what that blood has done for us in our life and in our heart.  And most importantly, what that blood does for us when we are facing our enemy Satan!

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Colossians 2:15

Final Thoughts

We hear, we read, we study, we execute, and we build our faith on the Word of God repetitively without ceasing.

We don’t have to be a theologian to understand faith.  We keep doubt out of our heart and we believe in God’s Word, and we will have whatever He says we can have.

When we understand where faith comes from, and how faith works (faith in God, in His word, in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, in the blood covenant, in the indwelling Holy Spirit) then we are equipped and ready to walk in our authority as a believer and live an unlimited life!
