Breaking The Spirit of Limitation
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
Jeremiah 32:27
“Again and again they put God to the test; they vexed the Holy One of Israel.”
Psalm 78:41
How can we limit an almighty God? We can find ourselves murmuring and complaining and simply not believing when navigating through the giants in this faith walk. However, we must strive to maintain a victorious attitude of having faith like a child no matter how big those giants can be. It was the murmuring and the complaining that kept the Israelites from entering into their promised land. They ended up wandering for many defeated years in that fruitless desert because they came out of agreement with God’s promises and stepped into agreement with fear and unbelief.
1. Complying With God’s Word
“For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.”
Hebrews 4:2
When we are not in agreement with God’s word and His promises over our life, it can be considered an act of dishonesty and disobedience. He gave us authority and dominion, and as believers, He gave us His word, His armor, and His name. We as believers have a responsibility, and this begins with our faith, us believing and proclaiming His Word, and standing on His promises over our life.
2. Seasons and Storms
“The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”
Proverbs 18:14
It rains on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45). As believers, we will come under warfare from our enemy. However, if we find ourselves in a place where we feel like things are just not getting better, this is when we have to align and agree with God, use our authority over that situation–over the enemy attack–whether it be a sickness or any type of storm, and begin to walk in our healing or whatever the promise may be. God will provide all of our needs.
3. God’s Desire for Prosperity
“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”
3 John 2
Prosperity on the outside is a reflection of the prosperity on the inside. This is why it is important we work on our soul which is our mind, will, and emotions. We are not to be conformed to this world, but we are to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Our soul prospers as we renew our mind, and we cannot be focused on the natural–we have to keep our focus on God’s word and His promises for our life. We stay in agreement, in compliance with what God says about every aspect of our life, and then our soul will prosper, and that prosperity will show up on the outside.
4. Developing An Unlimited Mentality
“See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Jeremiah 1:10
Jeremiah was talking about the word of God in his mouth that would shape and shake the nation. This is the very reason the enemy is afraid of us speaking the word of God over our life. He knows the power of God’s word. Speaking the word of God over our life will not only uproot, tear down, build and plant, it will break off the spirit of limitation over our life as we develop an unlimited mentality that will usher us into our promised land.
