Building Your Authority To Conquer The Storms
To build your authority to conquer the storms of life, you have to first fall in love with the Word of God. Develop a hunger and appetite for the things of God. Whatever you feed will grow. If you feed yourself more entertainment, then you will grow in your hunger for those things. Feed yourself with the Word of God, books, and material that are going to enhance your walk with God. Then you will get hungrier and it will cause you to move toward the Word.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Romans 10:17
When you talk about authority, it’s simply faith; so if you want more authority, you need more faith. That is what this scripture is saying.
“Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Matthew 4:4
To grow in our authority is to grow in our trust in God. We have to keep hearing the Word of God. His word washes and renews our mind and keeps us in alignment with what God thinks about every situation in our lives, house, and world.

1. How To Balance Life While Conquering The Storms
The role of the husband is to keep an eye on the family as the spiritual leader of that home. Make sure your wife is good because your job is to wash her with the Word of God. Then look at your children and make sure they are good. You have to be in agreement with your spouse. You have to move forward in agreement as a family into prosperity.
As a single person, pre-marriage counseling is very important. You have to know if you are both headed in the same direction. Marriage is when two people come together as one. So you have to be headed in the right direction.
You need the grace of God. We’ve gotten very good at it over 20 years and we’re getting better. There are so many components when building a church: ministry, opportunities, problems. There is always a season, a challenge, but we have to be fluid and we can’t compromise. Whatever you sow into the Kingdom of God you will always reap a harvest.
After 20 years, one thing I can say is your family, or the church, or your business is not going to be built overnight. If you want it to be built overnight you’re going to stress everybody out and yourself. We have to learn to pace ourselves because we are in this for the long haul. There is the law of sowing and reaping so we are going to sow into our children and our family, because we know we are going to reap a harvest of healthy children and family. We also need to sow into the church. We’re going to need to sow time and energy so we can also have a healthy church.
“Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.”
1 Kings 18:56
2. Peace of Mind Conquers The Storms
When you have peace with God, you have the peace of God.
“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5
We know He suffered horribly. He was whipped with a catenae tail thirty-nine times, mocked, spit on, beaten, and stripped naked. He did all that to bring us peace.
Peace of mind is something everybody is dealing with. People feel stuck in their mind with all the chaos and confusion in this world. They’re oppressed in their mind and don’t know how to get free from it. But Jesus paid the price. The Bible says the chastisement of our peace was upon Him which means the beating, and that’s what torment can feel like. I’m getting beat up in my mind and to live in a place where there is no peace is not a place to live in as a born again Christian. You are a new creation if Jesus is your Lord. If He paid the price for you, then he’s called you to live in peace. By faith we have peace of mind no matter what!
Final Thoughts
Say this out loud: “By faith I have peace of mind because of Jesus no matter what!”
This is why Jesus said come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest (peace). Learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your soul. Not meditation like Transcendental Meditation Buddhism, not Confucianism, not even going to a spa everyday. That is all temporary peace. No, I’m talking about the peace of God that lives in you because Christ is the prince of peace who also lives in you. That peace is available to every born again Christian!
