Conquering Fear of Abandonment

Conquering Fear of Abandonment

Sometimes we don’t have a father in our home (physically or emotionally), but that is when God becomes our father and this happens with a relationship and a mark on our heart that will be with us forever.

You may be carrying your father’s name knowing he is out there in the world living his own life separate from you. You have his face, his eyes, his intellect, and yet you are a stranger from where you came from. The emotions from this type of abandonment are like a hole in our heart that we can carry and never quantify. It can drive us to many types of unhealthy lifestyles: drugs, alcohol, lust, and overachieving. Your unhealthy motive could possibly be proving to your father how he made a huge mistake by rejecting you. This leaves you with a chip on your shoulder the size of a mountain.

You can spend your life striving and striving for more, for better, for perfection, and it will never be good enough! You can stand in your stage of life and show your father you made it, and he had nothing to do with it. This is a twisted mentality because we end up excelling for the wrong reasons. That kind of tension in our body will eventually break us down. This type of lifestyle can lead to heart issues that cause physical damage.

“But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

God will always have an answer; He will always send an angel into our lives. Although some of us may not have a father in our life, God will send us a spiritual father; this is a spiritual principle. God’s word says for everything we lack, He shall supply all of our needs! He will fulfill all of our needs! This applies to all the different aspects in our life journey.

1. Forgiveness

We will have to make peace with our past sooner or later when we are following after God. He will always guide us to forgiveness. Demonic forces are connected to unforgiveness, and forgiveness will deliver us from those forces. Forgiveness is the key to conquering a fear of abandonment. We have to forgive so God can forgive us from past sins and we can move forward in our lives.

Forgiveness will break generational curses off of our children, our grandchildren, and the generations to come. Forgiveness will free us and change our future! However, forgiveness is a process we will have to follow every step of our life journey. It is not a one-time thing. We will run into life experiences that are affected by the lack of our past and we will have to forgive again and again. Forgiveness is a process! It’s a decision.

Living with unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. If we are drinking the poison of unforgiveness, we must forgive and keep forgiving so that unforgiveness does not get back on us. Let it go constantly.

2. Breaking Bloodline Curses

The devil is after us before we even come out of the womb. He doesn’t wait until we’ve grown up. He tried to get rid of Moses and Jesus before they were born. Satan is after our future. He wants to destroy God’s pre-ordained purpose on our lives. Unforgiveness is his number one weapon against that purpose and our future! We must walk in forgiveness in order to break those bloodline curses.

3. Your Testimony

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Revelations 19:10

The blood we shed from your past struggles becomes blood on the altar when we are sharing our testimony. Your testimony has power and could very well be the catalyst that brings another person to that altar. When you share your testimony, you’re vulnerable, exposed, and broken. However, you must understand your testimony is the Lord’s testimony. Of course, when sharing, you still have to use wisdom and strategy. People won’t see your past struggles, they will only see your heart.

4. The Revival of Freedom

Move forward and become a part of God’s Kingdom. There is no better way to erase our past than to walk into our future with purpose: God’s pre-ordained purpose for our lives. Freedom is in a revival! We are a part of something bigger than our imagination. Why? Because this is God’s House, God’s vision, and God’s heart to see the pharaoh’s of this land let His people go so they can worship Him.

Final Thoughts

God’s anointing heals the broken hearted, and empowerment follows afterwards.

No matter what our past looks like, ups or downs, ins or outs, hell or high water, rich or poor, at the end of the day we’re in the same family.

Embrace forgiveness and breathe in God’s revival so you can exhale it into the next generation.
