The Key to Living in Victory
God does not want us to live in a place of bondage because of disappointments and unforgiveness. His ultimate desire is for us to live in freedom. He wants us to trust Him and let go of everything from our past. When the enemy tries to remind us of those wrongs done toward us, we are to immediately cast them down with God’s Word so that we can move forward toward our promised land.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10

1. A Prosperous Soul
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
3 John 2
God doesn’t focus on where we are, He focuses on where He is taking us. His desire is that we prosper in every area of our life, especially our soul. Our soul is our mind, our will, and our emotions and God wants us healthy and prosperous in those areas. He wants us to walk in victory, freedom, and forgiveness!
2. God’s Righteousness Through Faith
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:23-26
God’s mercy sees past our mistakes–big or small. He asks us to walk in forgiveness no matter what the situation is. We all fall short of God’s glory, and it is His mercy that will pick us up, dust us off, and move us forward. Jesus was betrayed, He was beaten, He was even stripped naked on that cross before the world He was dying for. His words “Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do” are words that should ring clear in our hearts when dealing with others, too.
3. God’s Unconditional Love
God sees the big picture and we only see a few feet ahead of us as we travel down our faith journey. He is patient and intentional as He prepares us and fortifies us for the big picture which is our promised land. We learn from our mistakes as we yield to the Holy Spirit to refine our character. God is going to use us to shake the foundations of hell, and with Him on our side, we will defeat all the Goliaths the enemy puts in our path.
4. Mercy Triumphs Judgement
Mercy will always triumph over judgment. We yield to correction and discipleship and learn to live right before our Lord. His mercies are new every morning. Peter denied Jesus three times; all His disciples scattered by the time He arrived at that cross. But mercy (Jesus) called them back and they set the world on fire with the good news of the Gospel.
