Don’t Limit God

Don’t Limit God

I am the LORD, the God of all mankind.  Is anything too hard for me?

Jeremiah 32:27

When it concerns our healing, family, our future, destiny, our purpose, etc. nothing is impossible with God; therefore, we are not to limit Him.  We should never put boundaries around Him in any area of our life because of any type of fear, worry, discouragement, etc.  Sometimes even our family can become the most difficult boundary, and we will disobey God so we can please our family.  We love our family, but we must be careful not to step out of our obedience to God.  He should always be number one in our life.

1. Limiting God In Our Purpose

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.  For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Luke 6:45

We must be mindful to what we allow in our eyes and our hearts.  Being planted in the house of God, discipled, and grounded in His word is extremely important.  It is in His word we learn how big and amazing God is.  All those stories of the great faith men in the Bible–Abraham, Moses, Isaac, Jacob, even Noah–are stories that should be ingrained in our hearts.  They are testimonies to God’s greatness and living proof He is a God without limits.

As we say “yes” to God in every season of our faith journey, we position ourselves to do amazing things for Him and fulfill the call He has placed on our lives.  Trust in Him with every step you take knowing that He will take good care of you no matter what opposition the enemy sends your way.  God will take us to the other side–to our purpose.

2. The Crushing

There is always sacrifice on this faith journey, a price we all pay to do great things in this lifetime for God.  We are daily dying to our flesh, dying to those voices of distraction, learning discipline in our quiet time with God, partaking of His word, daily saying “yes” to walking in love, daily resisting the fiery arrows of offense, and so much more.  We go from faith to faith daily.  It is a lifestyle of obedience to God and His purpose for our life.  As we consecrate to His will, He then molds us and prepares us for our destiny.  When we truly surrender to God, we will have nothing to hide, lose, or prove because we gave it all to Him.

3. Guard Our Hearts

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from  it.

Proverbs 4:23

It is our assignment, our number one priority, to guard our hearts, not God’s.  Because our heart will determine the course, those limitations, and those borders of our life.  No person is in charge of our destiny except us, and this is determined by what we allow in our heart.  Opposition will always seek a way into our heart through people, places, and even things.  We have to be vigilant and always on the lookout for opposition from the enemy.  He attacks us not for where we are in our faith walk, but for where God is taking us–our destiny!

4. Being In God’s Presence

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26

Spending time with God will inevitably enlarge our capacity to break off all the limitations in our life.  He is a big God with big plans for us and we must make being in His presence a priority in our life.  Even being around big thinkers and people who have accomplished more than us is important.  Although, initially you can experience discomfort and the intimidation of their success, being around them will also enlarge our capacity to think big and reach out for big things.  We serve a BIG God and He has BIG plans for our life.  Let us not limit Him.

Final Thoughts

It is our assignment, our number one priority, to guard our hearts, not God’s.  Because our heart will determine the course, those limitations, and those borders of our life.

Our hearts will determine how big our life is going to be in the Kingdom of God.

Spending time with God will inevitably enlarge our capacity to break off all the limitations in our life.
