The Importance of Fellowship for Every Christian
Ephesians 6:10
Being strong in the Lord is not about pushing harder in your own strength. It is about learning to rely on His power instead of your own effort. A lot of people spend years trying to prove themselves, chasing acceptance from others or even from God, without realizing they are already accepted through salvation. When you understand that your identity is rooted in Christ, you stop striving for validation and start living from a place of security. That shift changes how you think, how you act, and how you relate to others. Fellowship becomes more meaningful when it flows from knowing who you are, not trying to earn your place.
1. We Are Complete In Christ
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
Being complete in Christ means you are not lacking anything spiritually. Many people, especially those who are driven and goal-oriented, fall into the trap of achieving just to feel worthy. But that mindset will always leave you empty because it is rooted in performance, not identity. When you understand that you are already accepted, your work and service come from gratitude instead of pressure. Abiding in Christ is about staying connected to Him daily, just like branches stay connected to the vine for life. That connection is where strength, purpose, and fruitfulness come from. When you live from that place, your motives stay clean and your actions become more impactful.
2. The Power of Our Confessions
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
What you consistently say about yourself matters more than you think. The Bible gives a clear picture of who you are in Christ, but many people still live under labels from their past. Whether it is rejection, failure, or pain from broken environments, those experiences can shape how you see yourself if left unchecked. God’s Word works like a mirror, showing you your true identity instead of the lies you may have believed. When your confessions align with that truth, your mindset begins to shift. Over time, that renewed thinking starts to change your actions and your direction in life. Freedom often begins with simply agreeing with what God already says about you.
3. We Are Seated In Heavenly Places in Him
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Colossians 2:10
This verse highlights a position that many overlook. Being in Christ means you share in His victory and authority. That does not mean life becomes easy, but it does mean you are not powerless against challenges or spiritual opposition. When you truly understand your position, fear starts to lose its grip. You begin to face difficulties with confidence instead of hesitation. Jesus already defeated sin, death, and every force of darkness, and being in Him means you are not fighting for victory, but from it. This perspective changes how you handle pressure, temptation, and adversity. It gives you a steady foundation no matter what comes your way.
4. Walking in The Perfect Will of God
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2
God’s will is not something distant or reserved for a few people. It is already available, but it requires alignment in how you think and live. Transformation starts in the mind, and what you consistently take in will shape how you see everything else. When your thoughts, words, and actions begin to line up with truth, clarity starts to follow. Even the challenges you have faced can be used for something good when placed in God’s hands. What was meant to break you can actually strengthen you and give you direction. This is why growing in the Word matters, because it reveals what is already yours and helps you walk it out daily.
