How To Receive God’s Gifts
It is the joy of the Lord that gives us strength, which is why the enemy constantly tries to attack our joy. When discouragement settles in, it becomes easier to lose expectation and stop believing for what God has promised. That is why we cannot let go of our faith, the Word of God, or the vision God has placed in our hearts for our family, finances, future, and purpose. God did not call us to barely make it through life. He calls us to trust Him, stay encouraged, and continue moving forward with expectation.
1. Trust God Through Every Season
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose”
Romans 8:28
Life can sometimes feel like one setback after another. There are seasons where things do not make sense, prayers seem delayed, and pressure feels constant. In those moments, it is easy to believe things will always stay the same. But God specializes in turnarounds. He is not limited by our circumstances, our mistakes, or what looks impossible in the natural.
God never intended for us to live stuck in despair, fear, or lack. He is a God of more than enough, and He is able to use every situation for our good. Even painful seasons can produce strength, wisdom, and growth when we continue trusting Him. What feels like a dead end today may become the very thing that leads you into your next season tomorrow. When we keep our faith anchored in Him, we can live with confidence knowing He is still working behind the scenes.
2. God’s Gift of Love
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
One of the greatest gifts God gives us is His love. His love is not conditional or temporary like human love can sometimes be. God does not walk away from us when we fail, struggle, or fall short. He continues to pursue us, strengthen us, and remind us that we belong to Him. That kind of love changes the way we live and the way we see ourselves.
The Bible says we love Him because He first loved us. His love covers us in our weakest moments and gives us the strength to keep moving forward. Jeremiah 31:3 says He loves us with an everlasting love, which means His love is not based on our performance. His love is stronger than our fears, stronger than shame, and stronger than every failure we have experienced. When we truly understand His love, it becomes easier to trust Him with every area of our lives.
3. The Gift of God’s Presence
The Lord said, “I will go with you, and I will give you victory.” Moses replied, “If you do not go with us, don’t make us leave this place. How will anyone know that you are pleased with your people and with me if you do not go with us? Your presence with us will distinguish us from any other people on earth.”
Exodus 33:14-16
There is nothing more valuable than the presence of God. His presence brings peace in difficult times, clarity in confusion, and strength when we feel worn down. We experience His presence when we worship, pray, spend time in His Word, and stay connected to His House. In His presence we are reminded that we are not carrying life on our own.
God’s presence is what gives us victory and direction. It is also what separates us from the emptiness this world often offers. Success, money, and achievements can never replace the peace that comes from walking closely with God. Without His presence we will eventually run empty, but with His presence we find joy, purpose, and strength to continue.
4. Believe then Receive
Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
Psalm 35:27
God wants us to live with faith and expectation. Too often people pray for blessings while secretly believing nothing will change. Faith means trusting that God is faithful even before we see the result. As we believe His Word, we position ourselves to receive everything He has prepared for us.
God walks with us daily, guiding us, correcting us, and blessing us along the way. The key is learning to depend on Him instead of depending only on ourselves. Self dependence keeps us limited, but God dependence opens the door for His wisdom and direction. When we trust Him fully, He leads us toward the promised land He has prepared for our lives.
Final Thoughts
God’s gifts are not reserved for perfect people. They are available for those willing to trust Him, stay faithful, and keep believing even during difficult seasons. Hold on to your joy, stay rooted in God’s Word, and continue expecting Him to move in your life. When we believe, trust, and stay close to His presence, we begin to experience the fullness of everything He has for us.
