Good News That Produces Great Joy
“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:10-12
The word Christmas means Christ the anointed one, Messiah, and mass gathering. It represents us coming together and celebrating the birth of the Christ child who became the Christ man who died on the cross and rose again on the third day and is now the Savior of the world! This is the absolute true meaning of Christmas!
1. Assignment From God
Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Hebrews 1:14
Angels are on an assignment from God to serve us, His children, who have received salvation. Their job is to manifest salvation into our life. The Greek word for salvation is soteria referring to the act of saving or rescuing someone from sin, danger, or eternal punishment, and bringing them into a state of well-being which is healing.
2. Ministering Angels
- There are ministering angels assigned to bring the healing power of God into our life. Their main objective is to bring us into divine health breaking all the generational curses of illness that causes early death.
- There are ministering angels assigned to bring deliverance when our relentless enemy attacks.
- There are ministering angels assigned to rescue us and give us soundness–nothing missing, nothing broken.
- Everything that is out of line in our life, God brings His ministering angels to line us up.
- Everything the enemy stole, God brings His ministering angels to give us back what was stolen.
- Psalm 91:11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
3. Supreme Reality of the Spirit Realm
Right now, at the throne of God (detailed in Revelations Chapters 4 & 5) are these great and amazing, strong and powerful angels residing at the altar of incense in Heaven full of our prayers God hears. Then God releases His ministering angels to answer those prayers. This is the spirit world–a real world–not just a fantasy, and not a fabrication of somebody’s thought processes. This is a real place called Heaven with angels who are sent down to earth on assignment to bring salvation into every area of our lives.
4. Celebration of the Birth of the Savior of This World
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.
Luke 2:13
The heavenly host of angels at the birth site of Jesus appeared so they could celebrate His birth. If we’re going to maintain a true Christmas spirit, we have to understand and recognize that God sends His angels on assignments to manifest salvation in all areas of our lives. They come with God’s throne room power!
FINAL THOUGHTS
The spirit world is a real world, not just a fantasy, and not a fabrication of somebody’s thought processes.
We don’t worship angels; however, we thank God they are His messengers sent to minister to us!
