Heartbeat of Heaven
“And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
Exodus 3:9-12
In this scripture God is calling Moses to bring salvation and freedom to Egypt. God is telling him to go back to Egypt where Moses came from and God is assuring him all the people who wanted him dead are no longer there.
1. Soul Winners
“Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.”
Psalm 107:2
Jesus will send us back to where we came from because we can reach people nobody else could. Of course, there is a season of deep restoration before he sends us back to those places that may have caused much pain and sorrow. Moses was in the desert for forty years before God called him out. However, it is those past experiences that validate us as we reach out to help the people God has called us to liberate!
Our testimony will have the power to open up cities to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Whatever God has done in our life, He will send us back to proclaim His resurrection glory and transformation power! Our testimonies may not always be similar.
Whatever Jesus saved us from, that is our story, and somebody needs to hear it. We will reach people others may not. We must recognize that we are called to be soul winners!
2. Our Obligation of The Good News
“Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled (obligation) by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News!”
1 Corinthians 9:16
Heaven is declaring over us in this scripture that we must tell the good news to others. We have the answers to people’s problems. Our past sins and problems are an essential part of our testimony. We were blind, and now we see! We were captive to sin, whatever that sin may be, and now we are set free! We are letting people know if God can do it for us, He can do it for them!
Imagine somebody sick and unaware of the healing power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have the answer to their problem! We are obligated to spread the news of healing. This is the Good News, and we have this Good News to share with the world.
3. Wall of Fear
The number one fear when attempting to share the gospel with people is rejection. We might think they might reject and judge us. We can wrestle with those thoughts when we begin sharing our testimony with people, especially strangers we don’t know. But we must break out of the flesh! We cannot be all about us and our fear of rejection.
Once we break free from the flesh, free from the fear of rejection, that river will flow. This is when the fire of God takes over. If we want to stay on fire for God we must keep telling our stories.
Our story is about who we were and how God changed our future. So don’t be intimidated by the crazy past when sharing a testimony. We are new creations, our past is gone, and we have a new life in Jesus Christ! Our testimony not only belongs to us but it belongs to God! It is His testimony which brings glory to His name.
Final Thoughts
Our testimony will be a witness to the goodness of God.
Do not let anyone intimidate you when telling your testimony.
Let us not get so spiritually deep that we neglect the great commission of saving souls and making disciples and winning people to Christ!
