How To Rejoice In Every Season
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Luke 2:10
Let us rejoice as we welcome the Christmas season and let us always remember Jesus is the reason for the season! This time of year, we can get reflective, filled with panic, and even experience gift shopping anxiety so to speak. Truth is, we already have the perfect gift and that is Jesus Christ.
1. The Good News
Don’t be afraid this Christmas season because God has good news for us–good news that brings great joy. Don’t allow the enemy to rob you of that joy because Jesus is the reason for the season. This is a great time to reflect on previous years, remembering and meditating on all of God’s goodness in our life. When the angels appeared in Bethlehem, in a shepherds’ field, announcing the savior of the world’s birth, this was good news. The birth of the savior was the greatest gift of all time.
2. Favor of God
If we have Jesus in our life, we have found favor with God; if we have favor with God, we have favor with man. Jesus is the difference maker and will guide us through every situation in our life. God’s favor is unearned and undeserved. God’s goodness, His favor over our life, is so incredible.
3. God’s Grace
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
This Christmas season can bring some anxiety into our life with all the busyness that comes along with it. If we find ourselves overwhelmed, we must remember that God’s grace is sufficient. We rejoice because the anointed king was born, and we continually rejoice in the fact of how good God has already been to us.
4. The Anointed One
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2:11
Christ means the anointed one, and the anointing is the burden removing, yoke-destroying power of God. The anointing also fixes everything the enemy messed up. If there is a hurt, a wound, a pain, a burden, a yoke, and a bondage, the anointing will deliver us. The anointing will also raise us up just like when the anointing hit King David. It wasn’t to heal; it was to raise him up. When the anointing came upon Jesus it wasn’t to heal Him, because He wasn’t broken. It was to raise Him up to what He was called to do here on earth. Once the anointing heals and delivers us from the enemy’s damage, it is preparing us to be raised up for our Kingdom purpose and calling.
Final Thoughts
This is a great time to reflect on the year 2024 remembering and meditating on all of God’s goodness in our life.
His favor over our life is so overwhelming. How can we honestly proclaim we did it all when it was God who gave us the strength to listen and obey Him!
We rejoice because the anointed king was born, and we continually rejoice in the fact of how good God has already been to us.
