Overcoming Spiritual Battles Through Faith
Satan, You Can’t Stop Me!
He will speak words against the Most High [God] and wear down the saints of the Most High, and he will intend to change the times and the law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, [two] times, and half a time [three and one-half years].
Daniel 7:25
This scripture points to the days we are living in right now. The spirit of the antichrist is already active in the world, and one of its main goals is to wear people down spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Many people today feel exhausted, discouraged, and overwhelmed, and sometimes they do not even realize there is a spiritual battle happening behind the scenes. Satan wants believers to lose passion, stop building, and eventually give up. He often uses pressure, fear, criticism, and confusion to attack those who are trying to live for God.
1. Effects of Spiritual Battles
If you have been feeling tired or worn down lately, you are not alone. Spiritual battles can affect every part of life, including family, health, finances, and peace of mind. The enemy knows that if he can discourage people long enough, he may be able to stop them from pursuing what God has called them to do. We are also living in a time where many systems and voices in the world openly oppose biblical values. That pressure can slowly wear on people if they are not staying grounded in faith and truth.
The enemy also attacks through words. Sometimes criticism, mockery, or negative opinions from others can become discouraging, especially when you are trying to grow spiritually or make better decisions. But opposition does not mean you are failing. In many cases, it is proof that you are moving in the right direction. The key is learning how to stay steady and keep moving forward even when resistance comes.
2. Last Days Purpose of the Church
“Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us.”
1 Thessalonians 2:18
Paul understood what it felt like to face resistance, but he also understood that delay is not defeat. Satan may try to hinder progress, but he cannot stop the purpose of God. That truth still applies today. Many people become discouraged when things do not happen quickly, but faith teaches us to keep trusting even during seasons of waiting. What God has promised still matters, even when the process becomes difficult.
This is why the church is important. It is meant to strengthen people, equip them for spiritual battles, and help them grow stronger instead of weaker. God’s Word teaches us how to get back up after disappointment, failure, or hardship. We were never meant to stay stuck in defeat. It is time for believers to regain confidence, endurance, and spiritual strength so they can continue fighting for the life God called them to live.
3. We Are Called to Build and Restore
Nehemiah was called by God to rebuild broken walls, and that same principle applies to our lives today. Many people are rebuilding their families, finances, health, discipline, and faith. Whenever someone decides to restore what has been broken, the enemy becomes nervous because restoration brings hope and stability. God does not call people to build on unstable foundations. He calls them to build according to His Word so their lives can remain strong when storms come.
Building God’s way creates protection not only for us, but also for the people connected to us. Strong families, strong faith, and strong leadership influence future generations. The work may take time, but what is built through obedience will last. Even when life feels difficult, every step of faith matters. God honors consistency, perseverance, and the willingness to keep building even during opposition.
4. Spiritual Warfare and Intimidation
But it so happened, when Sanballat (an evil spirit) heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews. And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, ‘What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish—stones that are burned?’ Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, ‘Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall.’
Nehemiah 4:1-3
The enemy often uses intimidation and ridicule to weaken people spiritually. The moment the Jews started rebuilding, criticism immediately followed. The same thing still happens today. When people begin serving God, improving their lives, or stepping into purpose, opposition often increases. The enemy wants people to feel too weak, embarrassed, or discouraged to continue.
But intimidation loses its power when we decide not to quit. Trials and resistance are reminders that our actions matter and that darkness is being challenged. We cannot allow fear, mockery, or setbacks to stop us from moving toward God’s promises. The enemy may fight against us, but he does not get the final word.
Final Thoughts
Spiritual battles are real, but they do not have to defeat us. God has given us strength to endure, rebuild, and continue moving forward even during difficult seasons. Stay grounded in faith, keep building what God placed in your hands, and remember this truth: the devil may fight against you, but he cannot stop the purpose God has for your life.
