Set and Accomplish Goals God’s Way

The way we do anything, is the way we do everything.  A cluttered room leads to a cluttered mind.  When we set goals, whatever that goal may be, and there are numerous ones we can set, we go about our daily life establishing those goals and navigate with strategy. For instance, here is an example for a goal to a better physical body:

  1. Choose a diet and stick with it.
  2. Begin by taking a picture of yourself which will be our visual illustration for our journey to a better physical body.  It will also help us mentally.  Remember, if our body is good it will carry our spirit to where God wants to take us.
  3. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water.  Don’t drink your calories!
  4. Two workouts every day 40 minutes each: one outside (provides Vitamin D and helps with stress and hormones), one inside.
  5. Read 10 pages every day that will feed your spirit.

1. If It Is Unto Him, It Is Up To Him

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.

Ephesians 3:20

We are here now because of God’s goodness and mercy.  When our goals are unto Him, then, accomplishing those goals will be up to Him, because He is able.  Yet, we still have to begin with goals, strategy, and discipline.  When we reach those goals unto Him, it can never be all about us, it is all about Him who is able!  

There is a power that is at work in us God wants to release (which the scripture indicates above).   But we must first make sure our goal is unto Him before we even begin.  Spending time in His presence will allow Him to guide us in the right direction, because what we do unto Him cannot be stopped.  We never want an Ishmael in our life.  Ishamel in the Bible represents a decision made out of a restless spirit not waiting on God’s timing.

2. Posture vs. Position

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

Our positions will change through the years; however, our posture should never change on this faith journey.  What does this mean?  This means our posture of surrender and prayer must never change.  In His presence is where we get our strategy to move forward for any goal in our life.  God has the blueprints to our life and He will roll out that blueprint one step at a time.  We spend time with Him daily and we learn to hear His voice as He directs us and makes our paths straight. When we stay in our posture, we will gain wisdom from God and His peace will be our guide. 

3. Prayer Produces the Overflow

Give yourself to prayer and learn to hear from God.  Speak your requests and supplications, but also take the time to hear from Him in silence.  It should be a two-way conversation because it is a friendship, a relationship with our Heavenly Father.  Slow down, clear your mind, and sit at His feet and He will show you your future and guide you to your Promised Land!  This is where we will find the overflow of milk and honey, and live an abundant life.

Final Thoughts

The way we do anything, is the way we do everything. 

If it is unto Him, it is up to Him, and what we do unto Him cannot be stopped.

God has the blueprints to our life and He will only roll out that blueprint one step at a time.

Spend time with Him daily and learn to hear His voice as He directs you and makes your paths straight.
