The Blessing of a Changed Mind
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
We are in a spiritual battle which is fought in our mind–our mind is our battlefield! Our enemy has set up all his warfare to attack our mind. If he can conquer our mind, he can conquer us. However, when we allow God to conquer our mind through His Word, then God conquers us, God rules us, and then His blessings begin to flow on our journey to our promised land.
1. Abide In Him
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
If we don’t change our thinking then our lives will never change. The enemy is after our faith through our mind. All of his fiery arrows of attack are for the sole purpose of knocking us off this faith journey path. If we abide in God we will live out the plan and purpose He has for our life: our promised land. We can’t disconnect, we can’t get distracted, and we cannot listen to the lies of the enemy which are those fiery arrows. We move forward as we abide in Him!
2. Obedience to Christ
The enemy’s fiery arrows will try to stop God’s word. This is when we cast down those thoughts bringing them into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Those arrows tell us “You are sick and you’re going to die!” and we counter that thought with “I am healed by the stripes of Jesus!” We come into agreement with God’s Word and not what it looks like nor what it feels like. Our feelings cannot be trusted because they are continually changing. We walk by faith and cast down every thought that goes against God’s Word because His Word never changes–it is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
3. Healthy Strongholds
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Joshua 1:8
We allow God’s Word to build healthy strongholds in our life. This is accomplished when we meditate on His word and put those words into action. Building healthy strongholds will become weapons to withstand the fiery arrows of our enemy. His Word proclaims: God loves us, He is with us, He has good plans for us, and with Him guiding our life we are going to be just fine! Our stronghold of faith and our knowledge of the love of God will conquer every fiery arrow of our enemy!
4. A New Mindset in Christ
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
The pain and baggage from our childhood are the enemy’s most powerful fiery arrows he uses against us. These are fear-based memories and must be dealt with by allowing God’s Word to renew our mind. If we don’t renew our mind we will struggle with memory strongholds. Make a commitment today that you will begin to take down the negative strongholds in your mind by taking them captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ! He died on that cross to set us free from our past and He gave us a new life!

We walk by faith and cast down every thought that goes against God’s Word because His Word never changes–it is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
