Where The Blessing of God Flows
“But he was also afraid and said, “What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!” The next morning Jacob got up very early. He took the stone he had rested his head against, and he set it upright as a memorial pillar. Then he poured olive oil over it. He named that place Bethel (which means “house of God”), although it was previously called Luz.”
Genesis 28:17-19
This scripture talks about the importance and value of God’s house. Jacob was also afraid when he saw this vision of God. This generation has lost the fear of God. We must not lose the reverence and awe of God. Angels bow before Him, and heaven and earth adore Him!
1. God’s House: A Real Place
“God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”
Psalm 68:6
As believers, we are the temple of God. However, we produce buildings and edifices anointed for the sole purpose of the kingdom of God for worship, equipping saints, healing, restoration, blessing, and empowerment of our faith. These places are consecrated in a city for God and His people. We must not underestimate the power of this statement!
Target, Disneyland, Regal/AMC theaters, the Crypto Arena, etc., are not consecrated for God and His people.
2. Planted In God’s House
“Those that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.”
Psalm 92:13
When planted in the house of God, we become fruitful in every area of our life. We grow in grace, thriving and producing fruit—even prospering in old age. We will be vital and fresh, rich in trust, love, and contentment. Flourish means to break forth, bloom, fly, prosper, and come into full maturity.
We sometimes believe we are “planted,” but we may be mistaken. Correctly planting takes years of building your life the right way. When we do this, we will fully mature in every area of our life. We will see results in our marriage as it grows and matures in love, romance, friendship, parenting, etc. We will mature in our business and finance just like an IRA matures. ALL investments must come to maturity! We should want every area of our life to grow to full maturity. This is also the fruit of prosperity! Fruit is the reward of work or activity, according to Webster.
Now, there are miracles that we can’t control. This is the hand of God in our life. Maturity is walking by faith and walking out God’s promises. This happens when we are planted in God’s house.
“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”
Psalm 1:3
Whatever we do prospers and comes into maturity because we are planted by the river of God and in the house of God. Ezekiel (Chapter 47) talks about the river that flows from the throne of God flowing directly into the house of God. This river represents the flowing from heaven and the house of God. We must understand that where the river flows, everything will live. The swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt along the bank of the river. But on both sides of the river will grow all kinds of trees used for fruit, and our leaves will not wither, and our fruit will not fail.
We will bear fruit every month because our water flows from the sanctuary when planted in God’s house. This doesn’t mean solely attending church, although it is vital. We must not only listen to the word of God, but we have to be doers of the word of God and be willing to change.
3. Surrendering To God
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
We can be knee-deep, ankle-deep, or waist-deep in the river. When we go all in, we surrender to God and give Him control of our life. This is where we can miss it. We can go to church all our life and never truly surrender, never truly grow and develop. We can still harbor bitterness and unforgiveness because we never really submitted, served, or planted in the house of God. We may have faithfully given our tithes and attended Sunday service. Still, because we never obeyed God in other areas, we stay stuck at a spiritual level: ankle, knee, and waist-deep!
Giving God control is meant to deal with fear. Because at ankle-deep, there is a level of fear we have to deal with; knee-deep is another level of fear. Waist-deep, that river is flowing, but we’re still in charge. Once we yield, give our life, and surrender, God takes over, and only He knows where you will end up. Taking nations!
We keep moving forward and continue maturing. Once we lose our hunger, start looking back at the things of the world, and go back to our old ways, we are not maturing. We have to be careful because we will end up stuck somewhere.
When we are genuinely planted in the house of God—we are growing gradually (not perfection). Because we don’t know our full potential, only God does. This is when we start changing and becoming a different person. God starts trusting and using us powerfully, and the enemy is afraid.
We are planted, we are obeying God, we are flowing in the house of God, and in every area of our life, we will prosper. God can shower all kinds of blessings upon us so we have all necessities in every circumstance. Then, we can shower blessings on others because we are planted in the house of God.
Final Thoughts
Our fruit will be for food and our leaves for medicine to other nations–our maturity will affect countries!
When we are genuinely planted in the house of God, everything changes in our life!
We are part of a family planted in the house of God.
The river of God is meant to mature us and allow us to give control to God.
The river flowing through God’s house is flowing through our house.
We must have faith in God’s goodness and live free from Satan’s worry when he brings the heat of trial and testing to our faith.
