Why Following God Changes Everything
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
There are choices we have to make when we choose God’s pathway for our life. When we choose God’s pathway, we choose life. When we choose the flesh, the devil, and the world, we choose death and the curse.
1. We Let Go of The Past
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Luke 4:18-19
When we trust God’s pathway, we have to let go of our past. He has set us free from the bondage of our sins on the cross at Calvary. As we keep our eyes on Him and follow Him, our past will fade away. Let’s move forward trusting in God and allowing Him to get us to our promised land. This is His desire for us and He wants to lead us out of our past and into our future.
2. We Fight The Good Fight of Faith
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Joshua 1:8
We are not called to live with guilt and shame: I should have, I could have been, etc. Satan is a master at manipulation and his goal is to get us stuck in failure so we can’t move forward. We must keep our focus on these things:
- God’s faithfulness
- God’s mercy
- God’s grace
As we meditate on His Word, apply it in our life, and fight the good fight of faith, we will continue to keep moving forward. We must become bold and courageous when fighting our enemy, because we are on God’s winning team; so no matter what the battle is, we stand in a position of victory.
3. God Brings Beauty Out of Ashes
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Genesis 50:20
We all experience trials and tribulations on God’s pathways to His promises for us, however, as we move steadily forward on God’s pathway, He will take everything the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for our good.
4. God Brings A New Thing
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19
God will bring us through any storm if we just stay in faith and trust in Him. What seems impossible to us is possible with God. Our faith in Him helps us see our promised land even if it is not visible in the natural yet. God will change everything in our life if we stay on His pathway and follow Him to our promised land.
Final Thoughts
The way to make the right choices is by trusting in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
By meditating on God’s word every day and night, we will be able to fight the good fight of faith. According to God’s perfect will, you will prosper and succeed as long as you follow its instructions.
