How To Develop a Winner’s Mentality
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10
All through the Bible, from the Old to the New Testament, God’s constant desire is for us to win in life. We first believe, then we receive this truth. To understand that God’s will for us is to win, we have to first get out of our life anything that would fight against His perfect plan, even in our own minds. Never give the enemy ammunition to cause us to lose this faith fight, and learn to develop a winner’s mentality.

1. Principles For Success
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Not only does this scripture represent the key biblical principles of developing a winner’s mentality in the kingdom of God, it can also apply to everyday life. The key to building success in any area of life is to be faithful. We are not born with faithfulness. We have to grow in our faithfulness and in doing so we will produce fruitfulness in every area of our life.
2. Faithfulness
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Matthew 25:23
Being trustworthy and diligent in the small tasks or responsibilities is a sign of a faithful heart, and leads to greater opportunities and rewards. From faith to faith and one level to another level, our faithfulness will bring breakthrough to breakthrough, blessing to blessing, and increase to increase. Faithfulness is the path to our promised land. When we begin to practice faithfulness in every area of our life, we will begin to reap the rewards of our faithfulness. It is a biblical principle and remember faith without works (our labor) is dead. When we work hard and diligently to develop faithfulness, prosperity and success will follow.
3. Immovable
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Psalm 92:13
We stand on the solid rock of Jesus, not on the shifting sand of the world. We are planted and immovable in every area of our lives. However, distractions are a part of life. So we must learn to become fluid without losing our focus or allowing the enemy to knock us off course. This takes godly leaders, discipline, and surrounding ourselves with healthy discipleship. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). But the most important aspect of an immovable and focused life is the faithful foundation of our relationship with God.
4. 5 Priorities of Life
Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.
Proverbs 16:3
God / Yourself / Family / God’s Vision / Career
Each priority needs attention and faithfulness. Think of a garden and how it requires attention and faithfulness. If we lack in these areas then we will end up with an overgrown garden with weeds and insects that will deplete and ruin the vitality and beauty of our garden. We need to develop an unwavering commitment to faithfulness beginning first and foremost in our relationship with God, ourselves, our family, God’s vision to win souls and make disciples, then lastly, our career.
